Role Description

The Business Development Manager role involves leading your team to deliver exceptional resourcing solutions to both existing clients and new businesses by identifying and acting on new opportunities through strong business connections.

You’ll be respected by clients and candidates alike, with excellent communication, time management, problem-solving, and leadership skills. You’ll work independently, seek guidance only when needed, and provide coaching and direction to others, while driving innovation and spotting opportunities.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Plan and direct the delivery team to achieve agreed targets and standards for performance, quality, culture and legislative compliance.
  • Provide innovative and unique solutions to recruiting in a highly competitive oil and gas industry.
  • Deliver a range of contract recruitment offerings and tailored solutions to Airswift’s key global, regional and new business clients.
  • To lead by example, displaying a hard work ethic and understanding of many aspects of the business.
  • Recruitment activities include working on active requirements involving the search and selection of suitable candidates, liaison with clients and negotiation of rates and salaries.
  • Deliver global, regional and new business recruitment plans to drive recruitment forward and create new opportunities in a challenging market. 
  • Manage the direct performance of each member of the delivery team through an agreed performance management scheme.
  • Mentor and coach new members of the team.
  • Collate reports to give up to date assessment of recruitment activity and pipeline to the Regional & Country Manager.
  • Manage development programmes and perform regular appraisals.
  • Analyse performance to improve and streamline processes to increase return on investment.
  • Align with KPIS to determine overall success and effectiveness. Set and review KPIS of individual/team and ensure targets are met.
  • Drive contractor retention initiatives.
  • Recruit, select and develop delivery team members.
  • Help increase client penetration to maximise revenue potential.
  • Work closely with the Diversification Manager to help achieve the company’s diversification strategy.
  • Ensure that the Candidate Management System is up to date for all recruitment teams, including statistics & figures.
  • Ensure every placement has 2 reference names against every placement – a bonus will not be paid without them.
  • Lead and delegate for all bid CV collation.
  • Daily/Weekly discussions with counterpart Lead/Principal Consultants.
  • Liaising with Country Directors/Business Development Directors for Monthly Forecast/Pipeline.
  • Responsible for data requested by central HQ.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Adept in time management and can demonstrate structure in thinking. 
  • Strong client service skills and Upholds standards of excellence. 
  • Highly self-motivated and objective driven. 
  • Keen to apply strategic vision and sales acumen to a ‘fast growth’ style role. 
  • Account acquisition experience with a proven record of providing excellent customer service. 
  • Experience fostering strong client relationships. 
  • Ability to foster teamwork when working cross functionally. 
  • Proven experience leading strategic projects. 
  • Ability to analyse opportunities and qualify potential service lines and scope. 
  • Ability to network at a senior level. 
  • Ability to travel within the region to client locations.
