Role Description

The Benefits Administrator supports daily benefits operations, including managing employee inquiries, processing 401(k) changes, and maintaining accurate records in the HRIS. They assist with enrollments, leave tracking, invoice reconciliation, and open enrollment, ensuring timely and accurate benefits administration across all programs.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Manage the benefits inbox and respond to employee inquiries via email and phone.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by Benefits Manager.
  • Process 401(k) change forms, including terminations, hardships, rollovers, and contribution updates.
  • Input 401(k) loan enrollments and contribution changes weekly in ADP.
  • Monitor benefit premium arrears and unpaid status.  
  • Prepare and distribute enrollment materials to new and eligible employees.
  • Track enrollment deadlines and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Support tracking and coordination of Short-Term Disability (STD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other leave requests.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including employee communications, data entry, approvals, and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of benefit elections and changes in the benefits system and HRIS.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee benefit records in the HRIS, including elections, deductions, and status changes.
  • Assist employees in filing claims related to health, dental, life, and all other benefit programs.
  • Assist with monthly invoice reconciliation for benefit carrier bills to ensure accuracy in enrollment and deductions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written.
  • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Experience in Word, Excel, ADP and other applicable database programs is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a sense of confidentiality as well as urgency on all issues.
