Role Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for reviewing expenses and petty cash claims for compliance, maintaining accurate AR records, and supporting audits. Ensures transparent communication, resists undue influence, and assists with daily accounting tasks, month-end closing, and vendor queries. Reports to the Finance Controller.

Role Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for reviewing expenses and petty cash claims for compliance, maintaining accurate AR records, and supporting audits. Ensures transparent communication, resists undue influence, and assists with daily accounting tasks, month-end closing, and vendor queries. Reports to the Finance Controller.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Independently review all expense reimbursements and petty cash applications, ensuring supporting documents, fapiao's, and costs meet internal policies and tax compliance standards.
- Identify irregularities, incomplete documentation, and escalate immediately
- Ensure transparent, written communication with Line Manager regarding any questionable claims or gaps.
- Support audit preparation by maintaining complete, accurate documentation for all payments
- Actively resist improper external influence from business stakeholders, ensuring expense approvals are based on facts, not relationships.
- Maintain accurate AR records in line with company policies and local tax requirements.
- Support AR-related documentation for audits and tax reporting purposes.
- Assist in daily accounting tasks, including AP/AR processing, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and expense claims.
- Prepare and organize vouchers and supporting documents, ensure proper filing.
- Support month-end closing, internal compliance checks, and audits.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding payment and finance-related inquiries (simple English email writing required).
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Finance Controller.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of experience in AP or expense/audit control preferred.
- Strong understanding of Chinese tax system, fapiao process, and compliance obligations.
- Proven ability to independently identify and challenge non-compliant expense claims.
- Familiar with customer invoicing, AR tracking, and basic collection follow-up.
- High integrity, strong accountability, attention to detail, and proactive communication.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and withstand external pressure from non-finance teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication in both Chinese and English
